Frequently asked questions

Is an NDA required before sending a deck?

No. I assess the team and execution, not the idea in isolation. Submitted information is kept confidential under the Privacy Policy.

Do you invest personally or through VIC Partners?

It depends on the stage. Early stage: personal capital or angel introductions. Seed to Series A: through VIC Partners, with full process and an investment committee. I will identify the appropriate route after reading the deck.

What is the ticket size?

Angel: small ticket, early entry, long-term involvement. Fund: larger, tighter structure. Specific figures are discussed directly.

Is advisory and board work paid?

Yes, and capacity is very limited. Arrangements and fees are agreed case by case. I take on the role only where I can make a substantive contribution.

What is the response time?

Within five working days. Submissions introduced through my network are reviewed first.

Do you work with companies outside Vietnam?

Vietnam and Southeast Asia, with Vietnamese founders or founders of Vietnamese origin expanding into the region. Companies with no Vietnam connection: no.

What leads to the fastest no?

Short-term thinking. I prioritise long-term commitments with partners who think long term.
