The hard questions
How is Dong.vc different from a traditional consulting firm?
A traditional firm sends an analyst with a ready-made framework. Here you work with someone still operating and investing, using a framework built over twenty years. I don't write an 80-slide report. I find the real problem, then roll up my sleeves with you.
How do fees work?
The first conversation is free. If we continue, fees are set at the Charter stage, priced against success criteria rather than by the hour. Some engagements have a performance-linked component.
Will you invest in my company through VIC Partners?
Dong.vc and VIC Partners are operationally independent. Advisory work creates no obligation or advantage on the investment side. If there's a possible conflict of interest, I disclose it upfront.
What if the engagement doesn't work?
Every Charter has exit gates at pre-agreed milestones. At each gate, both sides decide: continue, adjust, or stop. A clean end matters more than dragging it out to keep billing.
Do I work with you directly?
Yes. I lead every Diagnostic Phase directly, no hand-off. When deep capability is needed I pull in vetted specialist partners, and I'm still the one accountable to you.
Is Đông Rùa Theory a real framework or marketing?
A real framework, standardized into a bilingual methodology document with a mathematical foundation. You get it in full during the Diagnostic Phase, under NDA.
Do you work outside Vietnam?
The focus is Vietnam's digital economy. I take on SEA-region engagements if the founder or parent company is Vietnamese in origin. Purely offshore companies, no.
